In the fall of 1996 MT Technology Partner was founded in Luleå (Sweden) by Magnus Tjernström. Originally the company was named Oook but changed to it's current name in the second half of 2003 when the company permanently moved their headquarter to the Stockholm region.
The initial focus was exclusively on information technology (IT) but was widened during the second half of 2010 to also include machine rentals and contracting and forestry.
The main operation is still located in Stockholm while the two latter branches focus their attention on the Kramfors and Sollefteå area in Ångermanland, Sweden.
